[Alla Prima Portrait Painting: Color Your Expression]

Have you ever tried painting a portrait with rough brush strokes because you liked the random texture and color mixtures on canvas? This workshop is for those artists who want to learn the exciting process, shift painting style from tight to loose, and create a unique portrait style. In this workshop, students will learn expressive application techniques and stage breakdowns and create five Alla prima paintings from the model. Instructor Zin Lim will discuss how to input personal voice, make interesting brush marks, choose a limited color palette, design composition, and explain fundamentals for head painting, such as proportion/gesture, value system, etc. All levels of portrait artists are welcome.
